Stephen, as the Artist-in-Residence at Manchester Cathedral, is asking people to join together in painting a small part of a large banner with his words: ‘Together Unafraid’.
It is about respect for our neighbours. The completed banner will be ready in time for the anniversary of the tragic Arena bomb on 22 May.
Stephen’s hope is that people will take this opportunity to celebrate our diversity rather than be a community divided by religious intolerance. Individually painted squares will be brought together to form the banner which will hang in the Cathedral a few days before and after 22 May.
